Up to 130 jobs in danger as private hospital in Kent set for closure
Up to 130 jobs could be lost as the group managing a private hospital in Kent has revealed plans to close it, according to a recent news report in the local business media.
Independent hospital group Spire Healthcare is proposing to close its St Saviour’s Hospital in Kent, which currently employs about 130 contracted and bank staff.
The listed group said a period of consultation will now commence with all members of staff.
Chief executive Rob Roger said the proposal has not been put forward lightly and that the group will work closely with patients to ensure continuity of care at alternative locations.
He added: "We recognise that Spire St Saviour’s’ team provide excellent patient care to the very highest standards. Spire Healthcare’s strategy is to operate modern, high-quality facilities and to invest in delivering higher acuity services.
