Logistics giant to open new hub in Kent

One of the world’s largest logistics and couriers will build a new international road hub and combined domestic regional sort centre in Dartford, Kent, creating multiple new jobs in the process, a news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

TNT’s multimillion-pound development is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to invest in its core European network and "enhance operational efficiency and service quality".

The state-of-the-art, 600,000 sq ft site is expected to open in the second quarter of 2017. It follows the opening of TNT’s South West super depot in Swindon in October 2015.

Steve Meadows, international network and operations director for TNT UK International and Ireland, said: "We’re delighted to announce this new phase of investment in our network. The Dartford area was chosen for its strong road links and proximity to the South East of England and Greater London, as well as both ferry and Eurotunnel services."
