Jobs in danger as Southampton transport firms go into administration
Multiple jobs are in danger after two family-owned transport companies in Southampton have been placed in administration after suffering from cash flow issues over the last few months, a news report in the local business media has been able to suggest.
Daltons Plant Ltd and Dalton (Southampton) Ltd were founded in the 1980s and have an established reputation in the transport, distribution and storage industries. They are based at Belbins Yard, Sandy Lane, Romsey, Southampton.
Carl Jackson and Andrew Watling, partners in the Southampton office of corporate recovery specialists Quantuma, are currently working to secure a sale of the businesses and their assets, as well as safeguard the future of 20 jobs.
Andrew Watling said: "Both companies had suffered from cash flow issues over the last few months.
"They had also witnessed increased competition and been undercut on a number of contracts which led to margins being squeezed.”
