Construction work starts on new affordable housing scheme near Andover

Construction work has recently started on a new affordable housing scheme on the outskirts of Andover, Hampshire, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.

Stonewater is working with Test Valley Borough Council and contractor Taylor Wimpey to build 44 new homes for local people in East Anton, on land known as ‘Parcel B’ in Augusta Park.

The new development will provide 22 one-, two-, tree- and four-bedroom apartments and houses for affordable rent, and 22 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and houses for shared ownership.

The first phase of the homes will be available next month (October 2016), with the scheme due for completion in early 2019.

The new Stonewater development is being built in the north-west part of Test Valley Borough Council’s East Anton Major Development Area (MDA), known as Augusta Park. Located two miles from Andover town centre, the new neighbourhood will provide 2,850 new homes supported by two primary schools, shops, offices, health and community centres and public transport.
