Premises re-occupied in prominent Cambridge business park, Vision Park
Following two companies finishing their leases, the companies Biostrata Ltd and GW Pharmaceuticals have moved into Endurance House on Vision Park in Histon, Cambridge. This is a well-regarded location on the edge of Cambridge, which comes with high-specification accommodation and car parking spaces.
Both companies were previously situated in Vision Park and have moved premises. Biostrata Ltd, a life science marketing specialist, used to be in Compass House, and GW Pharmaceuticals plc, which produces cannabis-derived medicines, was in Sovereign House.
Edward Dodson, director at Cheffins says: “In general, the market on the northern fringe of Cambridge has been subdued, as illustrated by the lack of activity or deals on the Cambridge Science Park and the Cambridge Business Park.
“These deals buck this trend and show that demand within the current climate is highly-focused. There is a localised need for space as can be seen by these two lettings going to companies within 100 yards of the building.
“We expect these types of deals to continue in Cambridge and the surrounding area as the market still sees activity which has been consistently underpinned by a lack of stock in the correct locations.
“Despite the shadow of Brexit we are still seeing agreed leases and the standard take-up rates for office space which we expect to continue over the next six months; however we may find that companies look to take shorter term agreements until the political climate settles.”
Clare Russell PhD, joint managing director at BioStrata, comments: “BioStrata has been based in northern Cambridge since 2014, connecting life science companies in the city, the UK and internationally with their customers.
“I’m excited that our growing team will be able to continue to thrive at our new home in Histon. All of us are looking forward to welcoming our media contacts, clients and suppliers to Endurance House over the coming weeks.”

Many office-based businesses believe that time and attendance systems are only useful for companies and industries which pay their workers hourly wages and work on a shift pattern.
We disagree!
Time and attendance management doesn’t have to be Big Brother. You can choose what data to collect, and who can see it. However, we know from experience that companies find the easy-access real-time data we can offer them very useful in building up a bigger picture of employees’ punctuality and productivity.
For example, having easy access to all employees’ clocking data, along with our useful inbuilt report wizard, means that HR staff can quickly create absence/lateness reports. This would give them advance warning about problems such as potential malingers, by spotting if certain employees were always off on a Monday, for example.
Companies without a technological basis behind their time and attendance monitoring system are often content with their manual processes, such as getting employees to ring in when they’re ill. They claim that they will spot suspicious lateness patterns or occurrences themselves.
But humans are fallible: that’s why we have computers! Unless the manager marks absences down on some sort of calendar they won’t notice any patterns, and lateness can be missed if the manager isn’t actively watching the door! Getting a system to take care of all this time-wasting monitoring for you is just common sense.
Many time and attendance systems require physical hardware, which can’t be installed when you don’t own the place where you work. Others only work in the cloud, which may not be suitable for your company’s needs due to bandwidth, security and software compatibility concerns.
We can offer renting companies our Self Service Module (SSM). This allows employees to clock in and out using either a browser version, or a mobile phone app. They can also request holiday using this app, which eliminates the need for cumbersome paper holiday forms. All the time data is sent straight to the central software, where you can view it in a number of formats.
