Up to 200 new jobs could be created at new Waitrose food store in Banbury
Around 200 new jobs could be created in Banbury should the recent application for the development of a new Waitrose store in the area receive planning permission, a business news source has been able to reveal.
Developed by Barwood Capital and Mondelez International, the new supermarket is set to be built on surplus land in front of the Mondelez International (formerly Kraft) factory on Southam Road.
If the application is approved, work is set to start on site in late 2015/early 2016 and complete the project in early 2017.
Mondelez International has previously said that the sale of surplus land to Barwood Capital would "generate funds to invest in updating and enhancing our staff facilities and offices".
