Bank to create 500 new jobs across the South East
A rapidly-growing bank has revealed plans to create 500 jobs across the South East this year to support its rapid growth, according to business media reports.
Metro Bank first opened in 2010 and now has 900,000 customer accounts. On the back of what was a milestone 2016 for Metro Bank, during which it listed on the London Stock Exchange and opened six new sites, it is now set to increase the size of its workforce past the 3,000 mark.
The bank will also release its upgraded mobile app, initiate an online account opening platform and launch a further 12 stores.
Craig Donaldson, chief executive of Metro Bank, said: "This year is already set to be another exciting one for Metro Bank and in order to support our ambitious plans we’re looking for 500 new colleagues to join our growing team.
"We’re proud to invest in the development of our people, with a dedicated university that supports colleagues in their career progression and promoting over 20 per cent of our workforce last year alone.

The jobs up for grabs over the next 12 months range from customer-facing roles to head office positions.
