Brewer to go on massive recruitment drive following the easing of lockdown restrictions
A Faversham-based brewer and pub operator will create more than 300 new jobs as it prepares to reopen its entire estate in line with lockdown restrictions easing, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to suggest.
Shepherd Neame has more than 300 pubs and hotels across Kent, London and the South East and reopened around 75 per cent of its estate for outside service last month. The remainder have re-opened from Monday 17 May when indoor service is allowed again.
Director of retail and tenanted operations Nigel Bunting said: “We have been overwhelmed by the positive customer response since we began opening our pubs last month, and we expect to be busy this summer as people enjoy socialising and reconnecting with friends and loved ones once again.
“In preparation for this, we are delighted to announce that we will be recruiting more than 300 full and part-time team members across a variety of management, front of house and kitchen roles.”
