Hundreds of jobs in danger at Virgin Atlantic

One of the UK’s best-know airlines, Virgin Atlantic, is set to render hundreds of employees redundant as part of a plan to create a simpler and more efficient internal structure, a recent news report has been able to reveal.

The Grawley-headquartered airline revealed that the bulk of the jobs targeted by the cuts will consist of support and managerial roles. The cuts, which will be made through redeployment and redundancies, are set to be implemented by the end of the year.

Chief executive Craig Kreeger said: "To truly position Virgin Atlantic for long-term and sustained success, we need to be a more efficient and agile organisation that has the ability to invest even more in the areas that make Virgin Atlantic’s customer experience unique.

"As a people oriented business, these are extremely tough decisions to take, but we know they are necessary to secure our future. We are committed to supporting our people as we deliver against these plans."
