Multiple jobs saved as commercial vehicle rescue firm is bought out of administration

Multiple jobs have been saved as a commercial vehicle rescue business has been rescued out of administration, a news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

J&A Recovery Ltd, which recovers lorries, coaches and similar vehicles in the west London area near Heathrow Airport, entered administration on 9 June with the appointment of Sean Bucknall and Andrew Watling from corporate recovery specialist Quantuma.

The company’s directors had proposed a company voluntary administration (CVA) prior to the appointment of administrators but failed to generate the sufficient level of support.

Within 24 hours of their appointment, the administrators were able to sell the business to an undisclosed buyer and safeguard four jobs. 

"J&A Recovery had cashflow problems but was a fundamentally good business which was capable of being rescued," Bucknall said.

Watling added: "A going concern sale was considered essential in order to maximise the potential disposal value of the business.

"This enabled a seamless transfer of the trade, assets and employees to a new company, J&A Rescue & Recovery Limited Ltd, within 24 hours of the appointment of administrators.
