New £30m hospital opens in Ashford, creates 90 new jobs
A new £30m hospital has been officially opened in Ashford, creating more than 90 new specialist jobs, a recent news report in the local media has found.
The new healthcare facility, called One Ashford Hospital, was built by Conlon Construction, comprises ten consulting rooms, four theatres, four treatment rooms, an endoscopy suite, 20 en-suite rooms, ten ambulatory care beds and an MRI and imaging suite. It also includes a Japanese-inspired roof garden.
Octopus Healthcare, a developer of purpose-designed healthcare premises, funded the scheme which will be managed by a team that has backed the development of more than 50 private hospital units.
Mike Adams, chief executive of Octopus Healthcare, said: "There is an urgent need to reduce the burden on our NHS hospitals and One Ashford Hospital is a great example of how private investment can help to build more facilities to support the growing need for healthcare in the UK."
