Plans approved for major industrial development in Oxfordshire

Outline plans to build a new major industrial estate in Oxfordshire have been approved by local authorities, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Corporate pension fund clients of Savills Investment Management (formerly Cordea Savills) and Lingfield Securities have been granted outline permission for 944,209 sq ft of grade A warehouse and office space at Didcot Distribution Park.

The scheme, called Giant, also includes outline permission for a single cross docked unit of 832,222 sq ft.

Lucy Winterburn of Savills Investment Management said: "Giant at Didcot Distribution Park offers a rare opportunity for a single cross docked distribution warehouse of greater than 800,000 sq ft located in the South. We are very happy to have received planning permission, especially for a site of this magnitude."
