Specialist laundry business to create 200 new jobs in Slough

A specialist laundry business has revealed plans to open a linen laundry in Slough, creating more than 200 new jobs, a business report suggests.

CLEAN plans to open its tenth and largest operation in the UK on the Slough Industrial Estate, in autumn 2016. The facility will combine the latest laundry technology with increased productivity. It will be custom-designed in collaboration with Kannegiesser – a European supplier of high quality laundry machinery – to transform the existing 42,000 sq ft space.

With the acquisition of Paragon Laundry in January 2016, CLEAN now delivers 130,000 workwear items and four million linen items each week. With the addition of the new laundry, linen production will rise by 25 per cent.

CLEAN currently employs 1,350 staff and the new facility is expected to create more than 200 jobs.

Chief executive Jason Miller said: "This is another significant development and a major step for CLEAN.

"We have taken everything we have learned from our flagship Camberley laundry, which has been in operation since January 2010, and enhanced further the new Slough laundry which will enable us to continue providing our customers with a world class and industry leading facility."
