Work underway on new 532-home neighbourhood
A rejuvenation project to turn the former Northfleet cement works site in Kent into a new 532-home neighbourhood has started.
Bellway has begun groundworks at the Harbour Village development on the south bank of the Thames, part of the major Ebbsfleet Garden City regeneration zone.
A total of 532 new homes will be brought, including a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and two to four-bedroom houses. There will be 372 properties for private sale and 160 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.
Bellway will also provide a new community centre, open spaces, parks and a riverside promenade running along the Thames.
As part of the wider transformation of the former cement works site, retail, commercial and office space will be constructed alongside Bellway’s development.
The first homes at Harbour Village at Ebbsfleet Garden City are due to go on sale in 2023.
